To strengthen our team in Pune, India, we are looking for a Storekeeper
Key Responsibilities:The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and maintenance of inventory and materials in the store/factory. The role ensures accurate stock records, timely availability of materials, proper storage practices, and compliance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Maintain accurate records of stock receipts, issues, and balances.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform management of shortages, excess stock, or reorder requirements.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and annual physical inventory verification.
- Ensure availability of materials as per operational requirements.
Store Operations
- Organize and maintain the store in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
- Ensure proper labeling, identification, and storage of materials.
- Issue materials according to approved requisitions and company procedures.
- Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) practices where applicable.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Prepare and maintain Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), issue slips, stock registers, and inventory reports.
- Update inventory management systems and ERP records accurately.
- Maintain proper filing of store-related documents.
Compliance & Safety
- Follow company policies related to inventory control and asset management.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and housekeeping requirements.
- Report damaged, obsolete, or expired materials to management.
Coordination
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Maintenance, and other departments regarding inventory requirements.
- Assist auditors during internal and external stock audits.
- You have completed training, e.g. as a warehouse specialist with a corresponding specialization or a technical background with relevant further training and at least 4-5 years of professional experience.
- You have a basic technical understanding and a hands-on mentality. Reading technical drawings and handling tools, for example to build a wooden crate, are no problem for you.
- You are very good at keeping and maintaining a stock of inventory. You will give an advance intimation to Purchasing when the stock is running low.
- You will issue tools and materials to the colleagues as per approval and ensure that the returnable tools are returned to the store as specified.
- You have a sound knowledge of MS Office applications, an ERP system and the English language.
- Your confident manners, leadership experience, good organization and quality awareness, as well as the ability to work very well with and in a team, will also convince us!
